This was about to get ugly for New York after the 1st quarter but they managed to claw their way back from 16 down to cut it to 1 at the end of the half. They took it to Washington in the 3rd and managed to hang just long enough to walk away with the win.
Melo was incredible with 37 points, helping the Knicks get back into it with his “bully ball” and was clutch when needed. Amar’e chipped in 23 points and 12 boards. The rookie Iman Shumpert dropped in 10 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. There were some plays where he looked like a younger, hungry Tracy McGrady. Tyson Chandler had a double double with 12 points and 15 boards. Mike Bibby started looking like he was playing for the Kings again, dropping in some killer 3’s, he was a perfect 3-3 from downtown. Rookie Harrelson had some really heady plays on the defensive end, this kid is a keeper. Toney Douglas was quiet tonight as well as Landry Fields who still can’t seem to get it going. Not sure what’s going on with him but whatever it is I hope he gets over it by April.
