Knicks Demolish Kings 114-92

This game was over by the end of the first quarter and we didn’t even need Amar’e with Josh Harrellson, the 2nd round draft pick from Kentucky filling in beautifully. Even with Tyson sitting out most of the first half with foul trouble, it looked like we didn’t need Carmelo either who didn’t get his first points until the last few seconds of the first quarter. It’s hard to imagine that this was the same Sacramento team that beat the Lakers just earlier this week.

Knicks Breakdown

Amar’e Stoudamire – Happy New Year buddy, get better and we will see you on Monday.
Carmelo Anthony – Solid playing in the flow of the offense, letting his teammates get hot without trying to force anything.
Tyson Chandler – Foul trouble is a little concerning but once he got his groove in the 2nd half he was unstoppable on the pick and alley oops.
Landry Fields – Seems to be getting his groove back, solid game.
Toney Douglas – Started hot and that helped get the rest of the team going.
Josh Harrelson – Looks like the rookie is done being nervous. His 3 ball totally messed with Sacramento, obviously ignored him in the scouting reports.
Jerome Jordan – Glad to see him get some solid game time. Like Tyson has some issues with foul trouble.
Mike Bibby – Looked comfortable playing back at Arco, his best game as a Knick yet.
Steve Novak – Did what he is paid to do. That is all.
Jeremy Lin – Seems to be trying too hard.
Renaldo Balkman – Mike D’Antoni wisely yanked him after that he shot that errant 3.

Sacramento

Jimmer Fredette – First time seeing this kid playing professional ball. He killed it in college but didn’t look that hot tonight. May just have been an off game but unless he figures out how to drop a few more dimes he’s not going to last long in this league.
Isaiah Thomas – Shortest guy on the court at 5’9 but played with a ton of heart. Reminds me of Nate Robinson but without the attitude.

That’s all for tonight, have a safe and Happy New Year folks!
